Qioptiq process a broad range of high definition visible glass types as well as Infrared materials such as Germanium, Zinc Selenide, Zinc Sulphide, Silicon, GaAs, AsS3 and Plastics.

For the past five years Qioptiq has developed its core optical manufacturing capability to maximise the benefits of its ultra-precision machining centre.. During this period the company has developed precision grinding and polishing of glass aspheres for Head-Up Display (HUD), culminating in further investment in new aspheric glass grinding machinery.

This has enabled Qioptiq to strengthen its expertise and knowledge within this market. Concurrently, the company has utilised its state-of-the-art single point diamond turning (SPDT) capability to produce infrared optics, for both in-house products and for external customers.
